DBmarlin 2.8 released - with more SQL Statistics for PostgreSQL and MySQL

DBmarlin 2.8 released - with more SQL Statistics for PostgreSQL and MySQL

We are pleased to announce version 2.8 of DBmarlin where we have added SQL Statistics for PostgreSQL and MySQL, so we now have them available for all of the database platforms we support.

SQL Statistics for more database types

Last month we added SQL Statistics for IBM Db2, CockroachDB and Oracle. This month we have added PostgreSQL and MySQL which means we now have SQL Statistics collection available for all of the databases we support. The statistics will vary depending on the database technology, but in all cases will show Duration and Executions and most cases will include CPU time, Physical Reads, Logical Reads and Logical Writes.

Improved New Relic integration

Last month we launched our New Relic integration. Previously it required using the API to enable it, but now in 2.8 you can also enable it from within the DBmarlin UI if you prefer.

If you are already using New Relic, you can search for the DBmarlin quickstart and follow the steps there. This links to our New Relic page in the DBmarlin docs, which describes the steps to enable DBmarlin to start forwarding event data to New Relic.

Other improvements

We have added Database Activity and Events tabs under the Host details screen so you can easily see Database performance for any Database instances mapped to the host or any related events such as Alerts.

We have made some performance improvements to our SQL Server sensor to keep the overhead as low as possible in busy production systems.

Finally we have included several minor bug fixes and improvements to our recently added alert rules and alert emails.
