You can upgrade to Oracle Database 21c and higher only if your DB engine uses the multitenant architecture. To convert your database to multitenant architecture, choose Modify and then Multitenant architecture.

Upgrade your PostgreSQL 9.4 databases before April 20, 2020

The PostgreSQL community no longer supports the major version 9.4 since February 2020.
If you don't upgrade, Amazon RDS will automatically upgrade your PostgreSQL 9.4 databases to version 11 starting April 20, 2020.

An upgrade requires two steps:

Upgrade this database to postgreSQL version 9.5.
Upgrade this database to PostgreSQL version 11.

Upgrade your Aurora PostgreSQL 19.0.0.0.ru-2022-04.rur-2022-04.r1 databases before January 31, 2021

Your cluster dbmarlin has databases running minor version 19.0.0.0.ru-2022-04.rur-2022-04.r1 which is no longer supported as of September 1, 2020. A newer minor version includes critically important stability and security fixes. Upgrading will improve the operation of your Aurora PostgreSQL instances and workloads. To upgrade your database cluster to the recommended minor versions, choose Upgrade.

If you don't upgrade, Amazon Aurora will automatically upgrade your PostgreSQL DB clusters to the latest minor version starting January 31, 2021.

Multi-AZ DB clusters now available

For Amazon RDS for MySQL and PostgreSQL workloads, you can now deploy Multi-AZ DB clusters. A Multi-AZ DB cluster includes a writer DB instance and two readable standby DB instances. When compared to Multi-AZ DB instance deployments, Multi-AZ DB cluster deployments improve transaction commit latencies (up to twice as fast), provide faster failover (typically under 35 seconds), and provide read scalability with two readable standby DB instances. The RDS for MariaDB 10.0 and 10.1 end-of-life date is approaching. Your database is using a version that must be upgraded to 10.3 or higher as soon as possible. We plan to automatically upgrade RDS for MariaDB 10.0 and 10.1 databases to 10.3 starting February 9, 2021 00:00:01 AM UTC.
